Vana Hurst, Parish Administrator
Vana was born and raised in McCall Creek, Mississippi. She has a longtime affection for the Episcopal Church. While living in Jackson, MS, she attended St. James Episcopal Church, where she sang alto in the choir. She is a member of Meadville United Methodist Church, where she plays piano. She is married to Gary Hurst and has two daughters, Sallie Katherine and Leigh Elizabeth. She recently retired from Franklin County Elementary School, where she taught music to grades PreK through 6th grade.
Dorothy LeBlanc, President of Angel’s Attic
Dorothy has been an Episcopalian her entire life. She has been a member of Redeemer since 2001 when she moved to Brookhaven from New Orleans. Dorothy met her husband, Mark LeBlanc, at Kanuga Episcopal Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC, where she worked as a lifeguard and camp counselor. She and Mark now bring friends to kanuga every summer and serve on the Board of Visitors. “The Episcopal Church has shaped the entire path of my life.”
Dorothy and Mark have been married for twenty-two years and have raised their two children, Lucie and Kate, in Brookhaven. Dorothy has taught Math, Reading, and History over the past 20 years at both Brookhaven High School and Brookhaven Academy.
“I love Brookhaven and the Episcopal Church. I am especially proud of our community outreach through Angels’ Attic”. Angels’ Attic support of local charities and the generosity of the customers to others is a blessing to our entire community.
De’Ana Derrick, Choir Director
De’Ana has been a member of the choir since coming to Redeemer in 2009, and has been leading it since 2016. She has two wonderful children. Her favorite part of worship is offering beautiful songs unto the Lord.
Diane Smith, Nursery Worker
Ms. Diane, our beloved nursery worker, has a deep love for the joy and care of children. She especially loves their wonder in the world around them.
