CBG- In Christ's Name We Stay
For many of us, summer camps were a vital part of our childhood and helped shape the people we are today. The friendships I made at camp continue to this day.
For me, our diocesan camp, Bratton-Green, is a formational place. I found my passion for youth ministry at camp. I gained many of the skills I would use as a teacher at camp. Emily and I began dating after a young adult's retreat held at camp. Waverly blossomed into a precocious, fun-loving sweetheart while we lived at camp last summer.
That is why I was heartbroken that Bratton-Green, along with all the other camps near and dear to us, had to remain closed this summer. However, "camp people" will find a way or make one. Thus, staff and volunteers at Bratton-Green have been holding "virtual camp" this summer called "In Christ's Name, We Stay"— posting activities and videos to YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Please join me in sharing this content with your families or loved ones. It shows that the Kingdom of God will break through all barriers if we allow it.
If your family paid a deposit for camp this summer and are able to leave it as a gift to camp's continued ministry, it would be much appreciated.
If, like me, you are interested in helping camp defer some of the revenue loss this summer, please consider donating here and adding "2020 Camp Fee Reimbursement Fund" to your memo box (pictured).
