Resumption of Worship

the following is a previously released letter

Dear all,                                                         May 22, 2020

I am very pleased to share that Bp. Seage informed me this week that Redeemer may resume public worship beginning Pentecost Sunday, May 31st.

This is a relief to many of us, as we all miss our beloved sanctuary and altar.  I look forward to seeing many of you again. However, we will observe necessary precautions as we gather together, including:

•               a 10-person maximum per service

•               appropriately spaced seating

•               the wearing of face masks

•               practicing hand sanitization

•               receiving the Eucharist in one kind (bread only).

Following the guidelines and mandates from the bishop's office as well as governmental bodies helps ensure we can gather responsibly.  I know that these precautions can seem very restrictive; however, these steps allow us to open soon than later. I would rather start earlier with more restrictions than wait weeks or months for more permissive guidelines.  I pray that you will follow me in this thinking.  My hope is that time and continued social distancing will provide gradual steps toward more familiar worship.

I also recognize that many of you still feel very anxious about returning to public gathering, either for your own safety or those around you who are more vulnerable. Please know that online offerings will continue. If you do not feel comfortable going out in public, or are feeling ill, please take advantage of these offerings.

In order to accomplish our worship together, I am requiring that you and your family reserve a spot at one of the several worship services we will be offering on Sundays and Wednesdays.

At present, we will worship:

Sunday at 09:30am, 11:00am, 4:30pm, and 6:00pm

Wednesday at 09:30am and 11:00am

If you cannot go online, you may call me at 601-212-4042 to sign up.

If it appears that we will need to offer more services per week or adjust the times, we will do so.

When you arrive, please wear a face mask and (if possible) bring hand sanitizer for your group to use. This will help stretch the church's supply of sanitizer.  For parents of small children, we "open" up the nursery if you need it, but it will not be staffed. My hope is that you will bring your little ones into church with us. Please include them in the count when you sign up.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at frmclarty@gmail.com or call me at the church 601-833-7399 or on my cell 601-212-4042.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. Andrew+
